I am an ordinary girl continually emerging as a writer, poet and human being. Wonder, excitement, work and responsibilities fill my air like the sway of a waltz or a beating, breathless tango. I have scooped and turned many gray, white and amber stones appreciating smooth roundness or jagged edges. I am smoothing my own roughness through a daily swim in words.
I write poetry because it asks. An internal chattering has always existed within me. A humming duet composed between the external world and my own forever soul. Within this music only I can hear, poetry lives profoundly. The lines roll through open windows, coming into presence and wrapping around one another exploring and exposing honest knowledge.
I write because I cannot deny the compelling to put the poetry on paper and then release the sound into the wind. Poetry is art. Art moves the human soul to widely open and pause for awhile. I suspect the music I hear will never stop and poetry will be a forever love.
